Celebrate Southport’s nautical history! Come view boats of all sizes, power, and sail, all dressed up for the holidays. Twinkling lights will illuminate the way as they set sail from the Southport Marina and travel up the river to Kingsley Park. Cheer on your favorite vessel.

Southport Christmas Flotilla will take place Saturday, December 9th, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (weather permitting). You can view the flotilla from the Cape Fear River waterfront from the Southport Marina to Kingsley Park on Bay Street, Southport.

No admission Fee. Co-sponsored by the Cape Fear Yacht Club, Downtown Southport Inc. (DSI) and the City of Southport.

State Port Pilot Annual Cookie Contest will take place on Wednesday, December 6th from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at the Southport Community Building. To enter this year’s contest, visit The State Port Pilot website or email them.

Expectations are for many cookie entries this year, so come on down and cast your vote for your favorite. You will be able to take home some wonderful holiday cookie ideas. Free Event.

Enjoy a parade and fire engine show like no other!

On Friday, December 8th at 6:30 pm, children may board the fire engines at the Southport Fire Station before the parade and meet with Santa Claus at the Southport Fire Station after the parade.

The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. and travel past Waterfront Park and up Howe Street to the Southport Fire Station.

Join us Saturday, December 9th from 1 pm to 6 pm for the Southport Historical Society’s Annual Christmas Tour of Homes. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time in one of the very special homes within the historic district of Southport.

There will be several beautiful homes in this year’s Southport Historical Society’s annual Christmas Tour of Homes.

Tickets go on sale at the Fort Johnston-Southport Museum Visitors Center and the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce (4433 Long Beach Road, Southport) on November 20th.

Ticket prices are $15.00 per in advance. $20.00 per on day of the tour. A limited number of tickets sold. This event is part of the Southport Winterfest.

A fundraising event of the Southport Historical Society to raise funds for scholarships to local high school students and other Southport Historical Society activities.

On Saturday, December 2nd from 9 am to 2 pm, visit the Oak Island Holiday Craft Market and find unique gifts for everyone on your holiday list before the Christmas by the Sea Parade.

The Holiday Craft Market will be held at the Oak Island Recreation Center. Local artists, craftsmen, and vendors will be selling their wares. Coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies for shoppers will make this year’s Holiday Market especially sweet.

Christmas is perhaps the best time of year to visit the North Carolina coast. In a celebration of this wonderful weather and the holidays, the Chamber organizes the Christmas by the Sea Parade, the first Saturday in December on Oak Island.

The parade starts off on December 2nd at 2 pm on the 2.4-mile parade route from Oak Island Town Hall, traveling Oak Island Drive to McGlamery Street. The parade showcases the businesses and organizations in our community. The hometown feel of the parade makes it a favorite event for locals, second homeowners, and visitors.

What better way to get into the Christmas spirit they by enjoying the holiday festivities on the coast of North Carolina!
