Bald Head Island Pirate Invasion

The Pirates are returning to Bald Head Island!!  The Pirate Invasion takes place the weekend of June 15th – 17th, 2018, and the weekend is sponsored by many of the island’s businesses and homeowners and coordinated by BHI Pirate Invasion, Inc.

The weekend will include visiting the Pirate’s camp, sea battle, and party with the Pirates, musical performances, magic, sword fighting demonstration, The School of the Sailor, treasure hunt, and so much more.

In addition to celebrating the 300th anniversary of Black Beard’s death, our theme this year is “Pirates helping Pirates.”

Holden Beach Concert ScheduleGet ready for a fun time at Holden Beach! Dance a little and smile a lot! Every Sunday night at 6:30 pm at Holden Beach come out for a Free Concert starting May 27th through September 2nd, 2018.  The music ranges from beach music to jazz to oldies and some good old rock n’roll.

Refreshments are on sale to help fund the events, so be sure to bring a little cash.

Sunset Beach Turtle Talks @ Sunset Properties

Sea Turtle Talks take place at 7:00 pm Sunday evenings beginning on June 10th, 2018 and running through August 26th, 2018, during the nesting months. Turtle Talks are held at Sunset Properties, located at 419 Sunset Blvd S, Sunset Beach, NC.

Members of the Sunset Beach Turtle Watch Program will discuss the life cycle of sea turtles, provide you with do’s and don’ts to help keep our turtles safe, and answer your questions about these gentle giants that nest on our beaches every summer.

Free Movies at the Lake @ Carolina Beach Lake Park

Carolina Beach Lake Park hosts Movies at the Lake each Sunday evening throughout the summer. The Town of Carolina Beach, proudly bring you the FREE Sunday Night Movies at the Carolina Beach Lake.  As always, we have selected Family-friendly movies for the enjoyment of all of our residents and tourists alike.  Our FREE Movie season runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day weekend for a total of 15 selections for your enjoyment.

We are happy to offer popcorn, candy, soft drinks, cotton candy, and more for sale at the movies – and all for a reasonable price!  You’re welcome to bring your own food and beverages as well.  Directions: Once you cross Snow’s Cut Bridge the Carolina Beach Lake is approximately 1 1/4 miles on your right  Movies start at dusk (around 8:45). Movies are subject to change and are weather permitting.

Oak Island Adult Day Camp @ Oak Island, NC

Thought day camp is just for kids? Join Oak Island Parks and Recreation from June 18th to June 22nd as we experience the best recreational activities on Oak Island. This fun packed week is Oak Island’s first summer camp for adults, and will sell out! The week will be full of activities such as: Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), Kayaking, Sailing, Learning the History of Oak Island, Lighthouse Tour, Fishing, and even playing a round of Pickleball. Pre-registration is required.

Adult Day Camp is for Ages 21 and Older $100 Town of Oak Island Residents & $150 Non-Residents. Registration begins May 1st, at 8 am, the Oak Island Recreation Center or online at oakisland.recdesk.com

The Wrightsville Beach Farmer’s Market will open for the season starting May 14th, 2018, through October 29th, 2018.

The market is every Monday from 8 am to 1 pm. Enjoy the best local produce, arts and crafts and locally made products the area has to offer!

The Wrightsville Beach Farmer’s Market provides an opportunity for residents and visitors of Wrightsville Beach to purchase fresh, locally grown produce.

In addition to produce, vendors and various other consumables vendors, the market include a variety of unique craft vendors.

The market will take place on the grass area next to Wrightsville Beach’s Seawater Lane at the Town of Wrightsville Beach municipal grounds.
