Come enjoy a historical ghost walk through Bald Head Island and experience the sights of years past. The history of Bald Head Island is rich with tales of pirates, ghosts, and civil war soldiers. To help gain the knowledge of an era gone by, the former mayor of Wilmington Harper Peterson has organized the interactive and theatrical walk through of Bald Head which covers over 500 years of the island history.
Performers are dressed in costumes and each have a tale to tell of folklore of Bald Head once known as a pirate sanctuary. The characters range from lighthouse keepers, river pilots, famed pirates, sought-after women of the time, lost civil war soldiers, and even the most fearsome pirate of all time Blackbeard.
The tours run from Monday through Wednesday at 7:45 and Friday at 8:30. The tours are scheduled to run through August. The tour will meet at the Sail Shop at 96 Keelson Row, Bald Head Island. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children. For additional information call 457-6844.
